# First Steps: Configure Kernel Pack

Once Kernel Pack is running, we need to verify that the paths to Nmap and Python are correctly set. A pop-up will appear indicating whether Kernel Pack has detected them.

If it says "not found" but you already have them installed, go to Kernel Pack → Edit Preferences. From there:

* Set the correct paths to Nmap and Python.
* Click "Check" to verify the paths.
* If they are correctly detected, click "Save" to apply the changes.
